The ORBERA System is a soft, saline filled silicone balloon that is placed in the stomach. It is designed to partially fill your stomach, giving you a feeling of fullness. It does not involve any surgery. The balloon placement is done as an “endoscopic” procedure under mild sedation and only lasts about 20-30 minutes in total.
After the procedure, you’ll rest in the clinic for 1-2 hours for observation and then be discharged home. The balloon is in place for either 6 or 12 months and is removed in a similar manner.
